Very in depth site Troy and Crystal. I was very surprised much to my delight. I don't believe I have ever seen a web site for a town with so much info. It would actually take days to   go from one end of this site to the other. Once again well done. I am def putting this on my favourite list....Jack and Heather

Hi Troy - I'm one of your long lost Lowe/Smith cousins living over on the other side of the world in Alberta. Have a look here - http://www.islandregister.com/lowe.html , check out #3 (Martha Lowe) in the list, then #18 (William Lowe Smith), then #66 in his family to see where your great-grandpa fits in. My email address is at the top of that page, please contact me. I am a great-great-grandson of Martha Lowe's brother William Lowe Jr. I tried a comment last night but don't think it went through, then found Crystal via the newspaper but think I emailed her boss thinking that was her email address on her page.

I would like to thank you Troy & Crystal for the work you do on this Site and in general for promoting Parrsboro. The news, videos, the history............all mean a lot to those of us living away from the maritimes " to still be able to keep in touch with our roots".....- you two truly are "treasures".

Parrsboro was amazing!!!

What a great day in Parrsboro. Jen and i spent about an hour at the Parrsborro Elementry School with the K-3 classes. We spoke about the book, where i got the idea and how Jennifer brought it to life. Jennifer got the kids to "draw a dinosaur by consession" in which they got to vote on what she drew. Everyone there, kids, teachers and myself were amazed by her talent. it was like watching Mr Dressup on TV. People who can draw always amaze me. A few squiggles for them become something amazing, for me a few squiggles are .... just a few squiggles, at best.
Next we went to the Geological Museum. The Museum had said the y would like 10 of our books but when we arrived, they told us people had already been calling for the books so they took 50 instead! I almost fell over. They pay for them upfront too. Double bonus!! Then they invited us to sign books at their big "Dino Days" festival in July. Triple bonus!!
We are still waiting for an answer from Chapters and also for Amazon to show that they are in stock. We appear to be having a hell of a time getting the books to them. The first set went AWOL in the mail so Jennifer tried registered mail and they haven't arrived yet either. At least we can trace them this time.
I attended a workshop for children's writers at the library in Moncton. It was part of the Northrup Frye festival. Very interesting and I picked up a couple of good ideas plus I received confirmation in my own mind that I am generally on the right track with what I am doing. This is important since I really don't have any formal training in writing and just go by feel as much as anything.

We need jobs . With jobs people will come back to Parrsboro. Bring in a recreation center, Swimming pool. With a swimming pool everyone could use it. It is wonderful for arthritis and has a lot of other health benifits. But of course we seem to be away behind other towns for some reason.
I think it would be a great idea to have our council join this site. That way they will see what we want and need.

Hi,My name is Evelyn Coleson and I live in Parrsboro.
I have just visited your website because I will need your service shortly to go to Amherst, however, I wanted to acknowledge what an excellent effort you have put into your website. It has a much better representation of Parrsboro than does the town's own website.   I am relatively new in town and your website has more information on this town than any other I have visited, even the Provincial web site.Keep up the good work.   I very much enjoyed visiting the site and you did have all of the information that I needed for now.
Thank you.
Evelyn.

Troy,

Boy I have had a long walk down memory lane with your website. I can't express how much I remember and how much I enjoyed viewing the pixs on your site. Seeing many many stomping ground areas flooded me with memories. I remembered that my Nanny (grandmother) was friends with your mom and grandmother. My grandmother and grandfather lived atop Whitehall hill over looking the ocean. He was a sea Captian as well. Much history there, anyway.

Thanks so much as I miss Parrsboro every day (with the exception of the cold). Debbi McDonald Troke from Pinky Creek Road commented on your site. Pass along that I grew up in the little cottage on the bend half way down the road. It was cool to read about someone who loves that place that I played as a child/teenager.

Thanks Troy & Crystal!!!! That was priceless!

All your ideas are great Troy. I would like to see the area over by the wharf developed for tourism, kayaking, boardwalk, vendors....I'm sure others would have great ideas. Parrsboro is a wonderful spot I drive 2 1/2 hours one way almost every weekend from March to Nov to get there. I use the business in Parrsboro and would love to see more people coming in, staying and supporting the community.
No kidding Parrsboro is a sleeping giant, I've traveled half way around the world and I wouldn't trade my little place at the end of Pinky Creek Road for any other place in the world. I think Parrsboro could really attrached the tourists both summer and winter we a bit of planning and some government money. The world should get a chance to see Parrsboro.

Hi Troy and Crystal,
What a lovely site you have created!   I've had a great time looking at nearly every page.   There is so much to see.   It is amazing to see the photos of Parrsboro as it was in the past.   If I didn't live here already, I would want to move here!   What a great job and what an excellent reflection of our little town.

I think it is great what is going on in your town and we loved what Kerry Martens put on in Parrsboro on the 5th and 6th of Sept. with the Hansons and the Cascar and Nascar shows but thought it was terrible what the RCMP did on the evening of the 6th as my family came down from Amherst to see it and they put on their own show and shut down everything..."Great Job" guys we all enjoyed it...Just in case you are wondering I mean thanks RCMP GUYs...Great show.
