This is a Parrsboro & Area Band.
Performing in the four piece band, NSF - NON SUFFICIENT FUNDS since 1996, Adam Siddall (ACES HIGH, JESTER'S DESTINY) & Justin Siddall (BLUE ANGEL) travelled across the Maratimes performing their self-penned tunes. The two CD's the band released (IN DEEP, 1997 & ONE RED CENT, 2001) received lots of radio play and earned them a strong following in the eastern provinces of Canada. 2005 brought about the departure of two band members. They were replaced by longtime friends, Bruce Fisher (former ACES HIGH bandmate) and Dirt. They began rehearsing and writing songs together, and it instantly became obvious that the four members had found their own original style of music that everyone loved, but no one could quite put a label to. It's acoustic-based rock and roll with a twist... a lot of twists! This new musical direction was so different from anything they had done before, that the band had no choice but to change their name! BIG DEAL was born in the spring of 2006. The band performs their new material, as well as the NSF, JESTER'S DESTINY and ACES HIGH classics. They also throw in a few "covers" for good measure. The band released a "special limited edition" of their first CD under the Big Deal banner, titled BIG DEAL "Non Sufficient Funds", in December of 2006. The limited quantity quickly sold out. The regular version of the album is slated for a spring release in March of 2007.

Ryan Willigar and Aron White are the core members of Code. Both are from a small town on the Bay of Fundy of Nova Scotia called, Parrsboro. Parrsboro has a unique and talented music scene. Aron has been writing and recording music for six years. Aron had written many of these songs and felt Ryan would complete the sound of his project known as Code. Ryan's voice is like no other. Listen to some of the tracks and guess how long he has been singing. You will be amazed. Code were featured on Halifax's Q104 "Route 104" program and Moncton's C103 "Indie Show". Codes debut self-titled CD was released at the end of 2005 with the help of engineer James R. Shaw and drummer Jordi Comstock. Please stay tuned for Aron White's solo material! "The Bay of Fundy"
The world's largest tidal energy resource!
The powerful tides of the Bay of Fundy are formidable Nova Scotian assets. They hold the promise that green tidal power generation will become a viable alternative to unsustainable fuels such as coal, oil, gas and uranium.
Alternative tidal energy will give Nova Scotian homes, communities, businesses and industries an impressive competitive advantage in Canada and the world through stable, lower energy costs.
By reducing pollution, tidal energy will improve our health and reduce our health costs.
"The available tidal energy potential for the Minas Passage, Nova Scotia is over 1 GW. Harnessing just 15% of the available tidal energy resource base would generate enough electricity to power about 120,000 Canadian homes (assuming an average of 1.3 kW per home)" - Electric Power Research Institute Feasibility Study of In Stream Tidal Energy Conversion Technology in North America
Harnessing the Bay of Fundy tides will enable Maritime Canada to participate in a significant way to minimizing global warming.
Objectives:
Early in 2008, MTEC will select the most appropriate technology for the Bay of Fundy
By 2009, MTEC and its partners will purchase and install a pilot marine turbine in the Bay of Fundy.
MTEC will then proceed to develop a tidal farm capable of generating 10-15 MW from Fundy's powerful currents.
Note: In January 2007, Nova Scotia Power Inc. (NSPI) announced that they had selected OpenHydro’s technology for their trial tidal turbine. The following month, NSPI indicated that they are looking to have other tidal energy technologies tested by other tidal energy developers in the Bay of Fundy.
